State Projects Overview

  • California FBLA chapters and members have the opportunity to participate each year in a wide variety of state projects, culminating in recognition each spring at the section and state conferences.  Projects are divided into two categories:  INDIVIDUAL projects, which are completed and submitted by student members to their chapter adviser for initial approval and later review and awards from the State Office; and CHAPTER projects, which are completed by the chapter and then submitted by the chapter adviser for State Office approval.

2022-2023 State Projects--All projects will be submitted using the CA FBLA digital badging portal.  Instructions and how-to videos on using the digital badging system for submissions will be found here, but, in the meantime, let the work and fun begin by following the instructions on the documents below and collecting the evidence needed to submit by the stated deadlines for state recognition.  Note: All state projects have been adapted for social distancing and other precautions during the pandemic.

    • Chapter Projects - Advisers submit required documentation into the badging system no later than March 24, 2023.  Chapter project badges can be earned year after year by the chapter, which is not the case for individual project badges.
      • Adopt-a-Chapter Project
      • Government Awareness Project
      • March of Dimes Project
    • Individual Projects Student members submit required documentation into the badging system for approval by chapter adviser.  Approvals by chapter adviser must occur no later than February 25, 2023, so it is recommended that members submit work initially by at least a week prior to allow for possible needs for fixes and resubmissions to the adviser.  Once a student earns a badge for an individual state project, that badge cannot be earned again in a subsequent year.
